(NO NO NO NO NO! I WILL NOT LET THIS THREAD DIE!!!)
It took another hour before the skies were clear of enemy planes, but now The Deep Endeavor and The Lucky-13 were finaly able to return to the camp. Connie's plane had gotten banged up some, but Seth's was worse off. The Endeavor was riddled with holes from nose to tail and was limping back on only 2 engines, the left engine trailing thick, black smoke. Tail gunner Cole Perkins had been hit 3 times in his right arm. The bones were broken in several places, and he had lost control of his body from the blood loss; weirdly enough, he was still conscious, but it appeared that he was very much dead. The left wing and engine had been hit hard enough that Seth was forced to shut off the left engine completely to keep from setting the wing on fire, due to the fact that there was a small but steady leak in the fuel tanks in the left wing. In addition to that: the Sensors and the nose turret were knocked out, the landing gear was damaged but still worked (barely), and the bomb-bay doors were jammed open. Those things could all be fixed, but there was one more thing that couldn't be. As the planes touched down and rolled into the hanger, Seth and the others stepped down from the planes with heavy hearts. They took Jimmy and Cole out first. Cole was awake and the whole time that Seth was saying "Cole's dead, get him next", Cole wanted to get up and tell him he was full of crud and needed to shut his blasted mouth. Then Gabe decieded to check both Cole and Jim for a pulse. He found one on both of them, but Jim's was very weak. They were able to awake Jim who now remembered something that he needed to set straight before it was too late.
20 minutes later, Seth came into Jadyn's cabin and said "There's something you need to know. Jim just remembered that you were once his girlfriend and he knows that you think he broke up with you by choice. Well he didn't. He went into hiding to avoid being put to death so quickly that he never got a chance to say goodbye. He just realized this and he wanted me to tell you he's sorry for everything." As he left the cabin he added "I know he is telling the truth, because a dying man doesn't lie. We've got him hooked up to the 'DNA reset-inator' and it's keeping him alive for now, but he's not going to make it for much longer. If there's anything you want to say to him before it's too late, it's now or never."
