Seth came running up to the chicken coop village and realized the level of panic that was ensuing among the avians. Not only were the chickens running around like crazy people, but also were the ducks, geese, and other birds. Seth quickly found the other 5 roosters, who were helping to direct as many of the fleeing foul as possible towards the safety of the humans. <What's going on?> he asked the closest one, who just happened to be Rocky, his 2nd in command. The bulky Barred-Rock rooster turned and replied <There's foxes! 2 of them! They were about to get to the chicks when Nugget saw them and exposed them before they could make their move!> <Where are they now?> Seth asked. <Over by Coop 8, down at the other end of the lane.> <Alright, here's what we're going to do: Nugget and Phil, you guys come with me, we're going to draw the attention of the foxes. Rocky and George, you guys are going to sneak up on them from behind or the side once we have them distracted and ambush them, then we'll rush in as well. Mikey, you keep funneling the remaining birds towards the open part of the camp, find the males of the water-foul and tell them I said to get everyone out of the coops and to safety.> Everyone replied with a simple nod then went to do as they were told. As Seth led the distraction-he hadn't bothered to de-morph, there wasn't time anyways-taunting the foxes and luring them closer, Rocky waited in the shadows. <Wait for it... Waaait fooor iiiit..... NOW!!!> he said to George as the two of them leapt out of seemingly nowhere. Even Seth was a little surprised at their sudden appearance. Rocky got a lucky hit and his claws raked across the 2nd fox's face, tearing into one eye and sending the predator running back to the woods in pain. George was nowhere near as lucky, he mistimed his jump and landed too far back on the lead fox, hitting the rump area which, if anything, only mad the fox madder. It twirled around and flipped George to the ground; before he could do anything, he found the fox's sharp, pointed teeth and claws tearing into the flesh on his back. He would have been done for right then and there if Seth, Rocky, Nugget, and Phil hadn't been sprinting towards the fox and hit him in the side all at the same time. The combined impact was enough to knock the wind out of the fox and send him stumbling sideways about 5 feet before tripping and falling as the furious chickens assaulted him. Seth ran back to George, who was now unconscious and bleeding severely, and dragged him out of the view of the fox. He looked back around the corner of the coop in time to see the other 3 roosters chasing the bleeding fox back into the woods. He de-morphed and picked up George. Carrying his friend in his arms, he ran back towards the edge of the camp where Jadyn was. Don't give out on me now buddy, just hang in there. he thought.
