shipped eggs HELP!-sloshy and rotten when candled?

What does this mean to the egg? Because all the eggs I received yesterday look just like yours.

I don't know! These are my first Shipped eggs. That's what I need someone to tell me! Lol I hope it's ok because most of mine are too.

Some of my hens lay porous eggs, but it doesn't affect their hatching that I've noticed. Your pic doesn't look like anything is developing yet. I usually give mine until day 8 and pitch any that don't show development or smell funky.

I would open the sloshy one and if it is green and nasty I would take a pic and ask the seller to refund or send fresh eggs. If they won't do it, it may be tough learning experience:( As far as the porous, I have never had luck with them. BTW are there any good ones, beside your own?

I just recieved them today, so I haven't put them in yet. The eggs where not real clean, or uniform in size....so I candled a few just to see what they looked like and it just made me worried! They came from a fellow BYC er so I was pretty trusting, and they had no bad reviews. Should I wash them? I never wash mine, but then again mine are always clean to begin with. Any suggestions on how to deal with the seller? Sorry for all the questions! I'm just excited to get new breeds and want to do things right the first time.... Hopefully.

I'd crack the one you think looks most suspicious it could just be a meat spot or something. The detached air cells are just a hazard of shipping unfortunately.
What kind of eggs are they?

I was thinking that too. One of my eggs had a dark speck in it, but it was just free-floating, opened it up and it was just a meat spot, but the egg had been scrambled during shipping. I agree with opening up the one you think is the worst to make sure it isn't rotten, but you could always just try putting them in the incubator and seeing what happens.

Ok, thanks for all the suggestions, in gonna put some in. I will update you all on the progress. Any advice on how to handle the seller?

Keep us posted!

As far as the sloshy eggs are concerned, that is the fault of the postal service, when I received my shipped eggs about half of them were like that too.

As far as rotten eggs, that would be a little strange to receive, I would open one that you think is rotten, and if it is rotten and not just scrambled, I would take a picture and contact the seller, they may be willing to work with you on it. Best of luck!
