Shipped Monday no chicks Thursday... :( They are here (friday)

I'm so sorry .....I know that is hard. Mine seem to have all survived. But I'm watching one who seems weak. Make sure to check under the bedding for the grow-gel. Dawn said it's almost hidden sometimes.
I'm sorry...

Hey go to the "Meyers chicks are here" post. I loaded some pic's

I have been reading the post here yesterday and today. I cannot believe what you guys are having to go through. This should be a joyous occasion and instead is filled with greif. I was thinking about ordering some by mail just to make my life easier. Well, you can forget that. I will just drive my butt down to the local country store, place my order and wait. At least I'll be able to pick out my live chicks even if it is a month from now.
Sorry about your loss.

THat is sweet of you Okie but in my case, I should have done it express. And really after I did the math it took as long as they said.
I hope that columbia and PD can save as many as they can. From the reading I've done here...shipping is always streesfull. But now that I see them...it was worth it.
Columbia and PD are in my prayers

I got em and im gonna let em settle a little bit eating and drinking then into the big brooder they go...
Now i have 46 chicks, how come Ideal never gives me packing peanuts....

I'm so sorry that your chicks haven't arrived yet. It's so sad. I have only ordered chicks twice in the past. My first order was very small only 8 chicks and my second one, there were 16 chicks. Every place I read it said order in quanities of 25 or more, at the time I wasn't able to handle 25. I ordered mine from Ideal Hatchery and in both cases they had my phone number on the box. Hopefully with the hatchery that you are dealing with does the same thing. These are live animals for crying out loud and if they did get left some place, one can only hope that someone would realize that they will die unless they reach their destination on time. Maybe in this crazy world that's just to much to ask.
The waiting and not knowing is such a stressful time. Before opening up my box of little chicks I always said a chickie prayer. I've been real lucky I guess that all of them were fine except for one tiny Partridge Cochin, she was squished up against the box. She was alive and I just made sure that she got extra care, sugar water and food. She did live and right now she is about I think 10 years old, her name is Hope. The funny thing is, out of the 8 that were her flock siblings, she is one of 3 that I have left.

I will keep you and the chicks in my

thoughts and prayers.

You have called your post office, right? Sorry if I missed that you had. Did that hatchery have a tracking number?
