Shipped Monday no chicks Thursday... :( They are here (friday)

They should be able to track that package shouldn't they? I would also have thought the hatchery would be on the post office to find out where the heck that box of babies is. Sorry this is happening, I would be so, so upset.

I sure wish they could track them. I have been up from 3:00 am on worried about them.
The hatchery seemed surprised buy not worried....

Just spent 1 1/2 hours with the new arrivals. Got liquid into the ones that are still alive. Some are pecking. I think leaving them alone for a bit might be best now. Will check on them and do the beak dunk in about an hour.

I have not counted yet......I figured if I wait for a few hours I might not be so depressed.
Guessing that right now about 1/2 of them.
Tough litter critters, they feel like nothing.....

Four days to get from Iowa to Illinois. I wonder if it went out late monday or something. It probably sat on a loading dock somewhere. I had some problems with them putting me off on my Royal Palm turkeys (three times) and the last time they tried to put me off I told them send me my turkeys or refund my money. This was about 9AM Tuesday. they called back about 10:30 tuesday am (shipping day for the turkeys) and said they had been able to complete my order afterall. 8:15 AM Thursday (yesterday) the lady at the post office called before she even opened to let me know they were here. This is out in the middle of nowhere. I couldn`t believe it, I fully expected it to be Today.

Farrier, I feel your pain... after watching so many that came alive just gradually fade and die yesterday I almost wish they had all come dead. I ended up with just 4 live chicks by this morning out of 24 shipped.

My poor husband is as bad or worse than me. I'm glad he didn't have to deal with most of it but the 3 that passed after I got home lastnight hit him hard. If he could have made them live by sheer force of will they would have.

Good luck with your survivors.
