Hey all! New to posting here but looong time lurker!

I have had quite a few successful hatchings of my own quail eggs (buttons), but wanted to try my hand at coturnix. I had them shipped from OR, so it was not far, but there are a few with detached air cells. I have never incubated eggs with detached cells and have no idea how to vertically incubate these! The standard egg crates are just too large!

Is it safe to incubate in the plastic crates they were shipped in? I plan to poke holes in the bottoms, if it's okay.

If the plastic egg crates are unsafe, what can I use to keep them vertical?
Right now, they are in hour 6 of settling, so I have a bit of time to figure this out.

Thanks in advance!
