hello all. I got some ducks in the mail awhile back and the seller I go them from said that if I hatched any spotted ones from their eggs if I could sell them to her or trade when they grow up. This person is all the way in Maine and I’m in Kansas so they obviously need to be shipped. I’ve never shipped birds, just hatching eggs so I don’t know how to go about it. For example I don’t know if there needs to be any form of NPIP anywhere or if I can re-use the box that the first ones came in. Or how I go about creating a shipping label. Any and all information is welcomed! The two ducks I’m shipping are all grown up and the weather is suppose to be cool tomorrow on both ends so if I can get enough info by then I might go about shipping them tomorrow. If not I’ll just wait until another perfect day comes around!

You do need to be NPIP to legally ship them out of state. Maine does require it also if you plan to ship here.
Best to use new boxes. Less chance of disease spread (from birds previously in the box) and used boxes tend to be weaker.

They must be shipped USPS Express
