I want to ship a dozen hatching hatching eggs to a member here on BYC. Do I have to be certified? I was watching a video on how to ship eggs and she said she needed some type of certification to ship. Do I have to have this to ship a dozen hatching eggs to someone?

I looked it up and from what I can tell if you have less than 200 hens, then you can ship without a certificate in AR. The eggs must be washed and marked ungraded.
Also if you are not npip certified you can get into trouble. Certain states require more tests on top of npip cert. If you plan to ship the eggs without your proper paper work it can get sketchy. Take your own risk.

You have to be NPIP certified to ship eggs outside your own state, generally speaking.
Certain states, like Hawaii, have different rules on top of that to have eggs shipped in. Pretty sure you do not need to be NPIP certified if you are shipping within your own state.🙂

Ok. Thank you guys. What all is there. Do you know what you have to fill out? Probably won't be shipping eggs then. This is a one time deal, and I was hoping that I would be fine.

So, good news! I found out that mine have been pullorum-typhoid tested because they went to the county fair. It said I was given a form that showed I was NPIP certified. Now to find the laws for California.
