My friend shipped three, 2 1/2 month old Sebastopols yesterday. It was supposed to be a ONE DAY shipping time and now the birds will not be delivered for 24 more hours. They have lots and lots of lettuce,1/2 a watermelon and they have frozen fruit cups, but 48 HOURS in a hot, cramped box? I'm so afraid they are going to die from the stress and the trauma, and they must be suffering so badly.

Has anyone else had this experience?

Can they survive 48 hours in a box like that?

No I haven't but I sure hope they survive.

Me too, I am so afraid the stress will kill them. I hate the P.O.

Did they give a reason for delay? that's awful and are they close enough now you could drive to pick them up>?

They were shipped from here to another State. She triple checked temps, sent them Express next day, did everything right, but it turns out that "next day" in PO terms can mean 2 days. She is freaking out. I have read that geese arrive fine even with 2 days in a box. She will never ship again though. I don't blame her, I don't have the stomach for it at all.

Okay so they weren't coming to you, goodness that's awful especially as hot as it is. Please let us know when they arrives and how they are.

I will let you know when they arrive.

They were traveling up North where it's still fairly cool, otherwise she would not have shipped.

The person waiting for them is going nuts too.

I got the word, they made it! they are HOME!!!, she was at the PO before it opened this morning and got them right away as soon as the doors opened. They all stood up and were fine. They are playing in the pools with her other geese now.

Me too! I don't know how people handle shipping birds all the time. I was only on the sidelines and I was so stressed about it.
