shipping in two boxes? Confused

My chicks are on the way. . .. but they gave me two tracking numbers. So I
got on the web chat with Meyer and asked about it, and she didn't know why
there is two boxes. . . she speculated that they put them 15 to a box ( I ordered 27
chicks) and put heat packs in with them. Do you think that is the case? why else
would they split up what really doesn't seem to be a very big order. And it
seems the boxes are not together either. One has already processed through
Charleston, wv . . .one says it has not yet. Thoughts? This is my first time
getting chicks via mail, so I'm a little worried about them.

Odd. Did they both actually come from Meyer? Was one drop shipped from somewhere else? Did you order different breeds?.. maybe one of the breeds had a late hatch or they were short when the first part was packaged?

They both came from Meyer. They didn't say if one was drop shipped from elsewhere. . .there WAS an
issue with the brown leghorns and they called me and asked if I would accept a replacement breed, and I
did. . .I said white cochins would be ok, and they had them. . . .I am just scared they had some kind of
net burp and I got my order sent twice. My husband would wring. my. neck.

Ha, wonder if they did have enough BLs later and sent those in the second box without realizing they also had sent the first box with the cochins ... will be interesting to see what is in those boxes ... if you did get two orders sounds like you were just destined to have more chickens, best excuse I have heard in awhile, you can just blame it all on Meyer ... at least those are popular breeds you should be able to sell if need be.

so it IS unusual? Wow. now I'm insanely curious to see what is in those
boxes. It says they are scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. . .but they are
only two hours away. =(

Ya, it is unusual. Does make me wonder she doesn't have any way to check what is in the boxes, they had to tell the packers somehow what to put in them, where are the computer records for the packing list. Gotta love USPS, takes two days to go 100 miles Priority..

it says it left charleston at almost 9am. it's only 2 hours to lewisburg. . .I would think they'd have them by now.
I may swing by the post office and ask.
