I've tried all sorts of fish & seafood... they walk away from it... give 'em lamb ~ raw or cooked or upside-down & they go bonkers for it

You know what’s really fun? Chasing a cockerel around a twenty acre lemon farm when it gets spooked at bedtime and is the only one that didn’t go in to roost. There’re coyotes out here you dumb beautiful bird! We’re trying to help you get home!! And then I feel bad that the only reason he gave up is he tried roosting in a tree full of thorns. Ouch.

OUCH! Poor guy! I remember the thorny citrus groves my folks' farm had so I took precautions when planting them in our chicken yard.

Our lemon, grapefruit, & pomegranate trees all have vicious thorns. We don't have roo's to fly into trees but for the hens we circled the trees w/ 2.5 ft rabbit fencing w/ circles of bricks to keep them away from the prickly branches or digging up roots.
