I have 5 chicks that I have sold to someone in Indiana. I have never shipped chicks before. These guys are at least 2 months old and one closer to 3 months old. Other than having a proper shipping box and calling the PO ahead of drop off what else do I need to have done before they go? Do I need health papers and NPIP run on the ones that are leaving? Anything else?
Also, anyone know of a good site or place to order shipping boxes from where i do not have to buy 3 or 4 at a time. I probably will not ship anything else for a while!
Sorry if this is posted in the wrong spot, I could not really think of where it should go.

Sometimes vets have bird shipping boxes. Mine does. Put a piece of fruit in with them that will satisfy food/water requirements for the trip, like a piece of apple. You could check with the postmaster at your local P.O. to see when trucks shipping overnight leave so they don't have to be confined any longer than they have to. I would send health papers in an envelope attached to the box, and the name and phone number of the recieving party on the box, with directions to call upon arrival at their P.O. that is all I can think of. I hope it goes well!!
