Shipping loss

i live within a day shipping of most hatcheries except ideal...there are several people having trouble here due to the peoria IL sorting office..they are supposed to call when the chicks arrive so you can come pick them up..that office is not calling even the same day sometimes or not at all and treating the chicks like any other package..

Mine are 7 days old. Now one has started mouth breathing. So I gave it a mini shot of penicillin. Now she can't walk. I can't win. It's very sad.

At this point, I'm thinking of giving them antibiotics, thoughts?

To the above poster as well, why antibiotics?

She's walking fine again.
Antibiotics? Well, if one is doing mouth breathing, I would assume it's a respiratory problem. So last ditch effort would be an antibiotic for respiratory illness. I guess I think something is better than nothing. There's not a whole lot you can do with a chick. She looks better today, fingers crossed.
