Shipping Monday!

So, my order is finally shipping on Monday from MPC... which isn't too far from where I live (about 2 hours). I think I'm more excited now than my kids were on Christmas!!!

I ordered quite a few chicks:

Buff Orps ~ 6 pullets
Delaware ~ 6 pullets
RIR ~ 8 pullets
EE ~ 4 pullets
Silver Laced Wyandotte ~ 4 pullets
Barred Plymouth Rocks ~ 2 roos

I'm hoping that this combination works out nicely... although the grain store down the road are getting chicks in a few weeks so I can always pick up more! I figured that I would try my hardest not to go overboard for my first time. I have everything ready for them in my basement, did a run through with the heat lamp, and now I'm just going to have to wait for the call. Is it considered stalking if I just sit in the post office parking lot every morning at 5:30 to wait for their delivery???

Congrat's on your order! I would be interested in how it goes for you this time of year. I ordered from them last year in April and all were healthy and sexed correctly. It's exciting to get them and it sounds like everything is ready to go...be sure the heat is heated up and ready to go before they arrive.

By the way, MPC uses a hatchery in Ohio (myers), so you could get them anytime from Tue-Thurs...I think I got mine on a Thurs am. (we live in NE Conn.)

I was happy with them and am sure you will be too...have fun and keep us posted on progress!!

Congrats! i love all those breeds, except the rocks. Theyre cool, but mine have always been prone to deseases that dont affect the other brreds. Post pics when you get them!
