So I looked up on the USPS website information on "special handling" and it says that it IS offered for Priority Mail packages. When I shipped eggs today, I went to the counter and asked for "special handling". The lady was very nice but said, "That's not offered on Priority Mail." I said, "Really?? Well right here it says that it is." I handed her the print out from their website.
She kept looking and finally found how to scroll down and find it. It's $7.40 for packages under 7 pounds. So I bought it for the eggs that I shipped today. The buyer will let me know how they made it. I'm not concerned about broken eggs...more about broken air cells!! They handled the package like they would live birds and don't roll them around on the machinery.
I'll keep you posted on how they made it. Personally, I wouldn't mind paying an extra $7.40 to keep my eggs intact.
