JMO but FedEx is a rip off in more ways than one. You as the customer get billed at their published rate and THEN Fed Ex gives the shipper a kickback in the form of a discount. I avoid FedEx whenever I possibly can. Shipping charges are high enough without that kind of padding.
Just today I input an order online for something. The shipping came up to be $7.95 even though the merchandise was only $4. The only shipper they use is Fed Ex. So I went exploring online and found another company that sells the same item but for $0.35 more. However, they only charged me $1.95 to ship it via USPS so I came out WAY ahead. Y'gotta shop around.
