Shooting

Nice guns! I sometimes shoot my father-in-law's Ruger .22, as I like it more than the Beretta Neos we bought. That thing has a miserable trigger, we need to send it in and get that worked on.

My father introduced me to firearms at the tender are of 4. I have been a addict ever since. Wow thats 40 years! I've spent a lot of money on guns, all the rest I've just wasted.

I've got a few firearms. The one that sees the most action is my S&W model 41. When the cold weather hits the indoor bullseye pistol leagues start up. Kinda like bowling 'cept with pistols

.22 is a good caliber to learn and get over your fear. small is handy, but it needs to be big enough in your hand so you feel in control of it. my hubby has a .22 deringer that I won't shoot because it's TOO small - can't get a decent grip on it and I don't have the hand strength he does to just pinch it in place.
go to a gun shop and have them get out all the .22 pistols they have, hold each one and see which feels most natural in your hand. if they've got a range where you can try shooting it, or if there's a local range that rents firearms, try shooting it and see how naturally it aims... does it shoot where you think it will? if not, try shooting some others.

nothing is worse than trying to use a gun to defend your animals and finding out that , under pressure, you can't hit what you're aiming at. unless you're going to spend a fair amount of time practicing, you want a gun that fits your hand naturally, and shoots naturally where you think it will.

I'm an NRA cert. instructor and I specialize in teaching women, new shooters, and people with anxiety and fear about firearms... so feel free to ask if I can help.

yep, shooter here...
shotgun trap and sporting clays (got a lovely 12 ga benelli and a mossberg 20 ga my hubby smithed to fit me)
rifle, target only (built my first AR this year! wouldn't let my hubby help, made him sit on his hands and just answer questions while I built it)
handgun, mostly at the range, .22, .38, but love my glock .45 best.

shooting instructor (shotgun, rifle, handgun) and RSO (range safety officer)
might go hunting for the first time this year... don't know if I'll be a hunter or not, but seems time to find out.

but my hubby's the real shooter in the family... competitive shooter as well as knows more about all of it than anyone I've ever met...

Love shooting! Clays with the shotgun as well as pistol, rifle, and muzzleloader, just for fun!
My favorites are my Ruger Mini 14, Ruger GP100 in .357, and Springfield XD in .40 S&W. Also like plinking with the Savage .17 HMR.
Ammo prices are through the roof so I don't shoot as much as I'd like.

Teaching kidds young is the best way for them to learn respect for firearms my kidds all started shooting before they started school all are safe at handling firearms.on the other hand i put my 3rd oldest sons best friend thru gun safety at age 16 and he scares the crap out of me every time he handles a firearm, I bow hunt deer getting ready to go to deer camp as im typing.
love shooting my 45-70 gov.
