Just wanted to say I appreciate this thread. I am very interested in some Marans, but don't want to get overcharged or get inferior eggs. Thanks for all the information. I'm still not sure where we might get some eggs, but I'm just thankful to have this resource! Thanks for all the information!
I am bumping this up. Folks, feel free to post eggs you have received and the stock you have from those eggs. There are many super breeders to chose from. I will go ahead and post some pictures later when I have a moment. Or breeders feel free to post your eggs and stock.

I have got great blue and black coppers from dark eggs and Wade Jeane lines Peachick a member on this forum has a great quad! I have six of their huge healthy chicks in my brooder. I will recommend her because she asks a very resonable price and has great birds. Will Marrow of Whitmore Farm is another breeder I can recommend ! I do not have any of his birds direcetly but peachicks stock is from him. He has amazing dark eggs and has the most stringent cull and breeding practices of anyone I have every met. I have personally visited his facility and can say it is spotless and amazingly organized. Also all his birds are happily run on pasture. I have also visited peachicks place and she has amazing birds that have a great life and are very loved.
i got my french copper black marans from maransguy(richard) they were $65 for a dz shipped by ups 2 day. he sent me 15 gorgous eggs and i hatched 2 pairs from them. his lines r from bev's and it was later in season eggs i got were about 4-5. the shipping was killer on them but they were packaged above and beyond so it's not his fault in anyway. i would recomend him no probs but i think usps does better handleing, lol.
as for cuckoo marans i got mine from crunchie i had a trio hatch from 4 eggs both clean legged and french. i got them in 2 assortments of polish for fun i got for $17 shipped for each set. i don't know who her lines r but i will tell u they r THE darkest choc egg i have ever seen and so gorgous my mouth dropped. i'd say they were about a 7-8 in color. the birds were just as wonderful both breeds and knock out birds. her birds r extremely fertile too. u want outstanding cuckoo marans or w/c black polish she is the ONLY breeder i recomend for those 2 breeds and i in a heartbeat would reccomend her to anyone and i always do. crunchie u r an outstanding breeder and have awesome exhibition quality stock(although i know u don't say they r trust me they r
