Yes. Everyone else in this country has the right to free speech, why shouldn't he? Just because not everyone agrees means nothing. This is still America last time I checked.

Okay, I'm gonna go the other direction on this. Ol Hank KNOWS he's connected to ESPN in folks minds. He gets a paycheck from ESPN every time they play his song. So when he mouths off about ANYTHING, he KNOWS folks are gonna connect whatever he says to ESPN. That is the price HE pays for the money and the prestige of being so closely associated with them. That, in turn, means he's gotta watch his mouth. THAT is a price EVERY spokesperson pays for being a spokesperson for a major corporation, not just Hank. So, for this reason, I gotta say that Hank should not be surprised by what just happened. They are protecting their label.

This is not really a free speech issue. It's a don't-put-your-employer-in-a-bad-light issue. After all, they are not paying him to land them in the middle of controversies.

MNF went downhill when it left ABC so Maybe Hank was not getting enough money to worry about it. He did apologize but on the other hand I think he had the right to his opinion just as ESPN has a right to fire him.

The song belongs to MNF, not to Hank. So if ESPN purchases MNF and the song goes along with it, can they can the song?

ESPN doesn't own the right's to the song nor the lyrics, it's Hank's deal............... kind of like a lease, I think ESPN would rather wait for the hoorayy to die down before doing anything rash, they are all business folks they are probable looking for a replacement song as we speak, as a back-up.

I say keep the song let the rest forget.

Hank Williams has the right to say whatever he likes. No one is hindering his rights to free speech. I on the other hand will never watch ESPN or Monday Night Football if they even for a minute gave that jerk one more minute of airtime for anything. He should not even be allowed to clean the public toilets. No matter what I or anyone else think of Obama, he is the President of the United States, elected by a democracy. He is not comparable to Adolph Hitler, the murderer of 6 million Jews, and millions of other innocents. The Klu Klux Klan has the right to free speech as to any of the neo nazi skinheads. But they do not have a right to spew their venom and still believe they can have a forum on a major TV network. Hank Williams is a pig and he proved it by his words.

Wow !!!! strong...... but so is the subject matter, some good point's.

As long as the strong passion applies equally to the way the other side of the aisle is treated, I won't disagree with the comments.

Are you ready for some football heck yea that is Hank Jrs and should stay.. so he said something controversial.. that is that freedom of speech thing people what now if you say a disparaging remark about the president you get black balled.. wow. can you imagine what would have been done when they laughed and made jokes of Pres. 'Ford tripping, or Regan for being an actor.. or Bush for his many bloopers.. why is everyone so scared to say anything against Obama.. he isnt a prince, so stop treating him like a princess.
