Should I add to my order of eggs?

It just occured to me, I have ordered 6 eggs. I hope to get 3 hens in the long run so I have a little wiggle room...but now as I think about it, I realize
a) I will get some males
b) not all may hatch

So it doesn't look like my odds are all that good for getting 3 pullets.

I only ordered the eggs today. I think I may be able to add to that order but I'll have to do it ASAP.

I would buy at least a dozen. with shipped eggs you might have none hatch or they might all hatch. I myself have a average of about 50% hatch with shipped eggs

And as you get further involved in BYC and your chicken addiction, you will learn that no one here will ever say NO to chicks, eggs or chickens.

We are all enablers so there will be no safety for you here...

thanks, gamebirds, I'm coming to learn I'll need a little extra cushion for my numbers. I went ahead and made it a dozen. She's going to add a couple to that as well.

This way I can pic the 3 lovely ladies I want and sell the rest

I am new to this but I just set my first batch of eggs today. The math I used went something like this: 12 eggs shipped = about 6 eggs will hatch=about 3 will be hens. I have no idea if I'm right, I will know in 21 days I guess lol!
