Should i adopt a new male duck?

My sister in law has too many males. They are about the same age as my duckies and I have been debating about if it's a good idea to take on another boy. I have 1 male and 5 females that were hatched and raised together.
My girls do fight over my boy so perhaps they could use another boy.

I worry about having a good ratio and if they will accept a new duck into the mix.

Advice would be great because I know once I'm taking him home it's going to be almost impossible for me to give him up if it doesn't work out.

A good ratio is somewhere between one male for every five females, so there is no need to get another male, they'll probably end up fighting over the females and cause damage to the hens. You have a good ratio no need to mess it up.

I've got 1 drake to 6 girls and I'm starting to notice neck feathers are getting very thin on the girls.

In my other run/pen I've got my 4 young ones. 2 girls & 2 boys. So far those are faring well even though the ratio is awful. I think it depends on the ducks too.

Hes not an overly amorous drake from what I can tell he chases the girls but gives up pretty quick if they are not interested and will even ignore the girls some times when they are trying to get his attention. But he is a bit of an A-hole so I do worry about him attacking a new male he still goes after me on occasion despite me putting him in his place regularly (he does think about his actions a bit more and usually a stern talking too will deter him but he likes to sneak attack from behind so you cant turn your back (foot) on him.

I don't think it would be a good idea. I have 2 drakes and 10 hens and I still have a few mating related injuries (mostly the two least dominate hens). It's not anything life threatening but it can be unpleasant for the girls sometimes. Two drakes and 5 hens sounds like trouble. Save yourself the headache and heartache, and pass on a second drake.
