Should I allow this?

I would check out her place & chance it before takeing them to the shelter! I worked at one for 3 years. You just won't believe how many don't get a chance at a home,& get put to sleep because they don't"look" adoptable.
GIVE THE PUPPIES A CHANCE!!!

While it seems odd, I wouldn't jump to conclusions...just yet anyway. Explain to her your concern and if you can, see if she will agree to let you look at the property. While I understand needing to get rid of the puppies, you mentioned that you have other folks interested as well. Also, your 3 only idea sounds fair.

i fear that as well! *shivering* gives me the creeps!

Are you selling them or giving them away? I doubt people would buy puppies to feed.

Maybe you should ask them for vet references to check and make sure they were up to date on their past pets they spoke of

i only ask for a small fee to cover for their shots and wormer. hubby wants to sell them for $75 so we can get mama fixed before giving her to anyone.

I say ask for vet references and to tour their house. If they are truely in it with good intentions, they shouldn't resist. If they are adamant that you cannot, then I would be suspicious. Also, ask to meet them to talk about it. You can usually tell the good ones from the bad.

I agree that it sounds really, really odd for someone to want 4-6...even people who have LOTS of dogs don't just get them all at once. Research labs like puppies, too.

You would be doubting wrong, sorry,

I worked at a paper and one thing we were told was that if the animal was not given a value it would be treated like it didn't have a value. Always give a animal a dollar value. You can donate the money to a local animal shelter. A friend is Fostering a dog and she is trying to find it a home and she is requiring a deposit when the new owner shows proof the dog has been fixed they get the deposit back. If this person is any kind of a real dog lover they would not only be happy to let you check refernces but would know your dogs came from a loving caring home. I really like the calling their vet's office for references. Good Luck!
