One of my eggs started moving last night (day 20) there's a small crack in the air sac end but very little has happened since. I'm probably being over sensitive but is this normal? It's the first time I've hatched my own eggs so could possibly be a silly thing to ask
They will often pip (that small crack you're referring to), then just sit there, learning to use their lungs to breathe and absorbing their yolk for a good 24 hours or more before 'zipping' (working their way round the egg at the airsac end) and finally kicking out. This can also take anywhere between half and hour and many hours so try not to fret and try NOT to interfere as you will risk killing your eggs.
and try not to do this...
