Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.

I just noticed. one of my chickens chest is quite distended like baseball sized,,, I did have a chicken once have an engorged crop but this dosent seem like that because it seems soft not hard.
didn't seem to bother her me touching her..and I will whatch her more closely but I hadn't noticed any concerning behaviour...
she is such a lovely sweet chicken..and we already have experienced 2 loses this year to predators..wouldn't want to loose another and especially not her
any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated
