Should i be concerned!?

I have a 9 day old duckling and when he's "sleeping" he'll lift his head up eyes still closed and nibble/pant in the air just floating. I don't understand is he to hot? Is he sick? He's been doing it all day. His poo is normal and he's eating the same but why does he do this only while sleeping?

I would not be concerned. I think what he is doing is panting. They do that when they get hot. As long as he doesn't seem to be having any other problems I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Thank you so much! I've been told he could have an infection and it scared me. I think he's handsome/ she's gorgeous! Alsom it has some missing feathers near its tail and on its stomach. Its peen "pruning" I believe a lot lately and its little yellow feathers are floating around. Is that a bad sign?

No, that's not a bad sign. He's just growing up! When chicks and ducklings get older they lose their fluff and grow adult feathers.

But they get bald spots? I new they got feathers but I didn't realize they'd get bald haha
