LindsayB, you just gotta assume that someone who lives in Buxton, Montana must know something about cold temperatures. I mean, there's somewhere nearby where water (when it can come unfroze
) will run to the Pacific Ocean and a foot away from it where another drop of water will end up in a Gulf of Mexico that's not too far outside your door.
I had a too small chicken coop once and a small barn nearby. The chickens decided they liked that roomier barn even if it didn't have a door on it. I gotta say that when it went down below zero, it was obvious that they were suffering.
But 30°F, they'll just huddle together under their down coats and should be fine.
