Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

The "chicks" turn 3 months (12 weeks) on Sunday. I am hoping for eggs from Nugget by the end of August. From Jemma by September and from the Lav Ams.... who knows with Ameraucanas??

It could be sometime in October.

Don't tell anyone but we know where Wilson's eggs are being hidden because we are laying a few trees over from there.... No one will ever find them!

And yeah...not even worrying about the ameracaunas...their first eggs will just have to be a pleasant surprise. I bet they're more like 24 wks when they lay.

I only got one egg today.... it has been wayyy toooo hottttt!! 96 today with 100 forecast for Sunday. I gave Rumples a dust bath and put her feet in some water. Wet her chest feathers too. Then the whole gang got cold grapes to eat and ice cubes in the water. We need a window in the coop for more of a draft on hot days like today.
