Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I have a good poem for tomorrow. I have really outdone myself.

well, I started this post hours ago, got distracted, the computer went to sleep... I forgot all about it! I chick proofed the boys former pen. it's escape proof

I really went over it inch by inch to make sure I didn't miss anything... and moved them in. they're so cute, redecorating all the straw, grass clippings and I found some nice pine shavings from last year (??) maybe 2012... and it's in perfect condition, so I used that in the kennel nest/bed...

you can see the waterer in both pics, to give you perspective, I have new tarps for the roof and handyman and i have a plan to build a free standing roof canopy.

trouble with cutting the lawn... they wander too far, this is pretty far in the back and later, I found them even further... in the field I call "the Football Field" not cool. but I collected about 6 quarts of black raspberries, it was easy to lure them back!

The egg machine Penny laid another egg. 6 days in a row! I'm pretty impressed. She's my hero.

Hey guys!
My aunt and I processed some roosters yesterday so I am down to one rooster! Hopefully that helps the girls from getting worn out and ragged! I don't have the Sal Faverolles cockerels and a few of Harriet's babies are cockerels. Plus I am sure that some in the incubator and under Bitty will be roos too. We will probably process again right before winter. This was my first time without someone more experienced. It went ok but there will definitely be some changes next time.

Lol. That is great Mortie! I actually let my aunt have the one I did because my fridge is full of squash and zucchini so I didn't have room for him to rest...... I really need to get those veggies proceeded snd in the freezer.....

This calls for a poem. I know we usually go with a more freestyle type here but since penny is working extra hard I thought I would put forth a little effort and write a limerick.

Penny's egg was for eating
It was meant for cracking and heating
But she got to hatch
In my first 'bator batch
And an egg is now her morning greeting

Little gems in the nest
Please, not the coop floor!
We are being patient
Hope it won't be long
Today we had a treat
