Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Clorox wipes (or Lysol)l. They are so nice in this hobby(obsession/insanity....) Things happen, and they are so much more convenient than a bucket of water and cloths. Even paper towels in a bucket of soapy/bleach water.

Nice poems everyone!

I have seen piles of poop that looked like little eggs in the coop and then reminded myself...none of my birds lay white eggs....so I've never actually reached for one.

I'm running out of words that rhyme with one so here we go.

ONE! Today, we laid ONE!

Noodle Pie Party! fish n noodles... Big Broody was just precious, breaking off tiny bits of noodles, they're such kooky creatures, but the most doting mothers... the noodle frenzy with the older chicks was great! noodles stuck to everyone by the end...

14 Eggs today and I'm so cranky, I'm not sure what's up with me. I should be happy - I trained the new carrier on my route today and I have MONDAY AND TUESDAY OFF! 3 days in a row??? insanity!

Scrambles, they will Love the frozen grapes - if you have room in the freezer, freeze a few small ice blocks (I use pint containers leftover from take out egg drop soup so the block pops right out) they'll peck at the ice and occasionally lie down next to one.

And yes.... I have stepped in (daily), knelt in, laid in and grabbed poop. Like you Cheeka, I have left deposits at work and in the car.

I try to wear only my chicken s#!t shoes when going to the pen, but I often get sidetracked. I also take my shoes off when entering the house. I need to keep some wipes in the storage.
The pullets will be 15 weeks old this weekend. I bought a bag of layer feed. That is what they will get when the current bag gets real low. Then I will mix them together. I have decided to let the Ameraucanas stay with Rumples. For some reason they really want to be near her at night. The other two pullets follow the big girls into the coop at night. Last night I got teary eyed. The little ones got on the roost on their own. I could hear the occasional cry when Smoke would peck at them. sigh.... they need to pay their dues.

chicken math is rough PB, but the reality is you have a very nice flock and they will produce lovely eggs for you to eat. essentially... the whole point of raising chickens... take good care of them
