Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

WoW... this darn cold has really knocked me on my butt. I missed you guys.
The Big Girls are molting, so no eggs from them. Rumples is being Rumples and I have given up on the Ameraucanas. They are 26 weeks old now and no sign of eggs.

Out of 7 girls, I am getting 2 a day. Nugget is a machine!! I will try to get pictures of my naked molters when I got out to clean and feed. No matter how sick us chicken people get.... we have the feathered kids to care for.
Have a wonderful Sunday and........
GO GIANTS!!!!!

Right now I have about a dozen spare eggs and have decided to try freezing them. I am going to try some whole and some mixed. DH says that it will not taste good as his family had done so decades ago. Anyone have experience with freezing eggs??

We use an immersion blender to scramble them up really well then freeze 12 at a time in a quart zip lock freezer bag. We leave a little space at first to squeeze out all the air we can then close it up all the way. They taste fine to me and my family.

The above picture is of a silicone ice tray. It has 4 of Jemmas little eggs in it and 4 scrambled eggs with a dash of salt. I am going to pop them out when they freeze and put them in a freezer bag. In a couple of weeks I will give them the taste test.

I have another question for a friend. She got 3 hens about 5 weeks ago. The seller told her that they hatched in January. One is a Wyandotte, one RIR and one?? The Wyandotte laid for her from day one until the family dog got her. She is okay and laid 3 more eggs and then quit. The other 2 have not laid one single egg yet. The hens used to free range and are now in a 4x6 pen, but are let out for a couple of hours a day. She says that there is no evidence of molting. Any opinions as to why they might not be laying?? She is on a limited income and chickens were supposed to earn their keep. She loves the hens, but they are not providing eggs.

You can dehydrate eggs too. It can them be made into scrambled eggs and used for baking.
