My dad would always have a talk with his...."eggs or legs ladies, which will it be?"
Chomping on a bucket of fried chicken while giving those kind of talks adds to the effectiveness.

Hang in there MC. It's got to happen soon. Couple of weeks ago I started transitioning my two huge orpys from the bantam coop into the big girl coop. No eggs from them at all during this time. One had been broody too. Last night was the big stick-them-in-the-coop-after-dark trick. First overnight for them and today, BOTH of them laid an egg IN THE COOP! Woohoo! Perfect timing. Tonight will be the real test of success when I go out in an hour to see if they go in by themselves. I dare not check earlier, because they are big babies and will try to follow me back to the garage. I will be so happy if I don't have to cart them around any more.
I really like the TJ's pullets. They are friendly and curious. A couple of them try going into the house when I open the sliding glass door. They are not crazy like the Penedesencas for sure.Wonderful pictures, cheeka! Lily is cute (love it when their arms are too short to reach over their heads) and Mylee looks to be thoroughly enjoying herself. Such big smilies!
clindz, the pup is a cutie too. Really like the dark ears. Makes her distinctive.
Ron, congrats on the TJ chickens. My Orpys were laying reasonably well until I moved them. Well, except when one went broody.Something to be said for production birds!![]()
