Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I just went to collect the one egg I get from my rhode island red. I noticed someone had pooped in the nesting box(I just cleaned it). In the few months my rir has been laying, she has never pooped in the nesting boxes. Never! I hope this means my EEs are checking out the nesting box.

I made halibut tonight. I am not a fish eater. I try it on occasion though, and so far I've eaten... Well, a few planks from Long John Silver's worth.
I was really looking forward to supper! But at the first bite, I wanted to puke. A few bites later I called my brother in law. He said he couldn't figure why I'd feel nauseous. One more bite, and I had to spit it out. What gives? I can't say it tastes bad. Why am I having such a problem? :-(

Maybe you don't like fish.

I have a sneaky Ameraucana that has been sleeping in the nests lately.

I take her out and put her on a roost after dark, but she seems to have cat-like night vision, and get herself back in. Love poo to greet me every morning.

It would be one thing if she was laying...

Yeah. Cleaning the nesting boxes is not my favorite thing, or my rir's. My rir gets grumpy when we clean her nest, because she always has to lay an egg when I am cleaning.

One of my hens does that but I let her off because she has leg difficulties. The only problem is that the others are starting to copy her! I didn't mind one keeping her company but now every one wants to sleep on the floor! I'll have to sort them out...

All five of my girls will sleep on the floor behind and under the roost. They don't care that they're getting pooped on.
It's funny because other times they all roost. Silly birds.

I'd rather some of my youngsters would sleep in the nest than their treat bowls. some roost, some stay with Mama on the nest, and 3 of them cram themselves into a bowl. it is kinda cute, but poop in the food is worse than poop in the nest. poopy eggs can be washed... poopy food is a waste. but I do love my new feeders. more of my time is now spent cuddling and visiting, rather than hauling... and they all got used to the new feeder instantly.
the Potty Gang is doing fine. Zira is doing so much better... I may be able to put her back outside by Wednesday...
