I just went to collect the one egg I get from my rhode island red. I noticed someone had pooped in the nesting box(I just cleaned it). In the few months my rir has been laying, she has never pooped in the nesting boxes. Never! I hope this means my EEs are checking out the nesting box.
I just realized that there is now chicken poop on my eggs! It has gotten under my finger nails and must've been there for hours!
I take her out and put her on a roost after dark, but she seems to have cat-like night vision, and get herself back in. Love poo to greet me every morning.
It would be one thing if she was laying...
