Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I know. It's just a number. So much superstition though!
I changed to the website (instead of the app which is not working properly) and changed number of posts per page. Problem solved for me!
I will definitely have a properly mounted gate at the top of the stairs. And putting the crib up there is to get me motivated. I have to find someone to actually fix the problem.

I have heard 666 known as the devil's number. I am a religious person, so I just don't like the number. My chickens are in bed. One was sleeping in the nesting box, so I moved her. She doesn't care because she was half asleep.

it may be a neurosis to see objects in random patterns, but I see a dancing chicken in this bit of frost. anyone else?

I hear singing. Why is she singing? That child is way too happy! Ha ha! You know I'm smiling as I listen to her song. Though i wish she were still asleep. I am used to her sleeping longer. Why does she have to grow up?

I went to collect the egg this morning, and my EE starting following me. She pecked at the egg gently, then turned away. Does she think it is food? I am a bit confused...

Chickens are in a perpetual state of searching, scratching, looking, tasting, catching, anticipating, fighting over, expecting, hoping, waiting for FOOD. Pretty much anything they can get down their gullets is fair game, if they're hungry enough. They are not, however, genetically programmed to eat an egg. Were that the case, they would eat themselves right out of existence! The egg eating chickens we hear about are almost always a result of nutritional deficiency (more protein, please!) or weak shells (can't let a broken egg go to waste!). A true egg eater is quite rare, but once they see eggs as a source of food, it's difficult to get them to stop. Your EE is naturally curious (Got something for me to eat, ma?), maybe had never really seen an egg, and was just checking it out. You know, just in case...

A good broody hen will eject certain eggs from the nest. I have seen one give the eggs a little tap with her beak while turning her eggs. I think they can detect bad eggs that are porous, thin shelled, or have hairline cracks or weak spots. On a nice, thick shelled egg, that little tap could not cause any damage at all. Maybe your EE was doing a quality control check!

I think I mentioned a week ago that I couldn't get Jazlyn's new snow boots to go on over her calves. I thought it may be because she was sitting on the floor, and her heel may not be going in. Today I remembered to try again. They did go on, but I still wasn't so sure about them (the second one wasn't going on right). So I let her walk around with them on. She loved tromping and stomping around, making a ruckus. Fast forward to this evening. I was answering a phone call, and looked at her to discover one boot on, and the other almost on (it was backward). She did it all by herself!! My baby is growing up!

In other toddler news, she had fun splashing in all the puddles today. It was cold out, but you know that is what her rain/muck boots are for. Keeping little toes dry through those awesome puddles.
She was telling me all about there only being one egg today. She was not pleased! She was comforted by carrying the empty water jug back to the house. That makes her feel so important!
And tonight while I was putting the playpen upstairs (trial run for her sleeping up there, and having to sleep in the playpen if she goes on any trips) I had her in the crib with just her diaper on. I came back to a naked baby!

Thankfully she hadn't peed. She is now asleep, but it took a lot of milk! I think it is the new room more than the bed. I may have a soaked child in the morning, but if all goes well, I can get in and out of the bathroom in the morning without her knowing I'm up!

If all doesn't go well, I'll be putting her in her crib sometime tonight.
