Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

That reminds me, my pullets are about 17 weeks old now. They should actually start laying around that day that I processed all of their brothers. Well, it looks like I am keeping one brother.
I can't be sure if I talked to you guys about it. My chicks are the first generation that some are gray. I happen to have a trio, and I want to separate them to see what they make.

no really. My babies are 17 weeks or 18 weeks or whatever. they are almost adult size. They are still a little pink and not looking at the nests except to sleep in them and poop in them. They hate me so I have no idea if they squat. They do not sing.

I'm pretty sure they are never going to lay eggs. Which is handy because I just gave away Hedwig and Penny.

That chicken needs therapy

Mortie, you don't have a choice but to wait it out. Sounds like they are not close yet. 18-20 weeks is early. 24 weeks is closer to the average I think, but you never hear much about it. We always hear folks bragging about their early layers or lamenting the late ones.

I'm fairly certain they're going to wait til next year to lay.

I don't care. The store here had eggs on sale for .24/doz the other day.

24 cents a dozen? What kind of eggs? Must be tobiko.
