Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Oy! Did you google and try to id it? Maybe it was an eagle! Surprising that the big ones would come into a neighborhood like that. Neighbors near here had a red tail kill a big hen. They chased it off so it never got to eat. They have never given me and trouble, thankfully, but there are smaller ones who come through every so often that seem to be sizing up the big girls. So far they have not gone after them, but they've been pretty small hawks. Sharp-shinned was the last one. Tiny. I do worry about the Seramas, but they love being out so we risk it.
there is no noles or opens in the camper it is like an air streamer camper, very closed, we took them all out of it we had two coops one my hubbie made for the peeps then when they are biger we put them in the camper coop, we had 15 peeps which were about ready to go into the big one, we took everyone out of the big one today, we went in tonight to see if all went in and they did but i told hubbie we need to put up another roost. we will go out tomorrow to figure it out.

I didn't google it, if it was an eagle, it was a juvenile... for an eagle, I would call it small, for a hawk... huge.

we had a big week here, Wrangler went up a level in reading again! and she also went up a level at horseback riding. she's riding a new horse for a while, she'll still ride Watson for certain things/times, but she is riding an Appaloosa named Black Jack, who won't "babysit" her like Watson does for youngsters, if you want Watson to trot, you really have to drive him. Black Jack is ready, he is a reigning horse and responds to the slightest touch. really cool. that, and she got out of the ring! riding in the great wide open...kid had a grin from ear to ear and so did I !!!

Wonderful news. Wrangler is really thriving! Imagine how great of a rider she will be when her feet reach the stirrups!

Won't be long now.

Not much new going on here. We had a generous amount of rain last month, and everything is turning green. It has been a long time since we've had a green Christmas, and hoping the rain storms keep coming through. The only thing I hope dies is the neighbor's tree that looms over us right near the house. Messy Monerey pine should not be by houses. Like living next to a roman candle in the summer time. It looks to be on its last legs. Hope so!

I know you are!

The neighbor has released her ducks. One Pekin drake with a very pale bill and feet. Two Welsh Harlequins. They were very loud outside my coop the first morning. They went after my ducks as soon as I let them out. Usually, my flock chases the cousins (flock) away from the coop and food. Allowing them in the area though.
Yada yada, they seem to be okay now. Unfortunately, they are mine now. They sleep in my coop. I was going to finally push them out last night, but I couldn't both make them go out in the cold and wet unprotected from predators.

at the Veteran's Memorial Park here in town.

an extra lesson - earned by diligence at school, her feet fall out of the stirrups still...

Loping! the first time was an accident, she gave Black Jack a squeeze and he thought she meant go... she liked it a LOT

It turns out that the ducks do not belong to the neighbor.
Three drakes were apparently dropped off for me to take care of. :drool And the two are Mallards.
The problem is that I am currently seeing seven ducks sticking together most of the day. My Pekin's daughter even seems to be learning that she is a duck, and should stop pining over her brooder mate chickens.

The chickens in the breeding pen are the ones she and her brother decided were their babies. She spends a lot of time outside their run.
