Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

So.... I did a chick check this morning. I have 6 chicks but counted five.
I looked all over until I heard a loud chirp for help. The poor little thing was stuck between the tote and the wood on the bottom of the pen. One of the Biggies must have scared it in there.
I got it out. It was warm and scurried into the brooder box. All is well.
The Littles seem happy and are 2 days from 4 weeks old. Feathering our nicely and eating like pigs!!!

I have four store bought eggs left in the refrigerator and four Golden Comets that are 18 weeks old tomorrow. Should I buy eggs or wait it out? This is a tough one. What to do?

Double their food every day from now on!! This was the tipping point for my hens.

That is a nice number. I currently have 6 but had a lot more several years ago

While waiting it out (seriously, what is taking so long?! ), I have to buy eggs. I picked jumbo because I need cartons for the bigger eggs the older two lay.
