I read an interesting article about a hen becoming paralyzed from being egg bound. It made me think of Rumples. I wonder if that's what happened to her. Egg presses on a nerve in the pelvis causing (usually temporary) paralysis.

Did you decide to get some pullets?

We got 10 eggs yesterday! All 5 of the old mob (that are capable) laid and 5 more from the new pullets. It's a record for us!

I found a nest in the back of the coop with two eggs in it. I don’t think it’s older than Wednesday. I check back there often because... well, chickens!

I am deciding on getting pullets from tsc or hatching Arkansas blue egg layers and pita pintas

It is a tough one! Getting the pullets will get eggs faster but the other breeds are very nice.
