Howdy everybody! Came back from carpool duty to find a large hawk up high in the neighbor's tree.

Thankfully, my girls were all present and accounted for. The other day a big snowy egret flew over and the girls dove for cover. The 2 Ameraucanas kept watching the egret as it flapped and perched in a nearby redwood tree. They kept alerting and interrupting the treat-giving session. Good to see that they all have self-preservation instincts.

Only 3 eggs so far, but that's just from this morning. Mustacheio needs to go check for more.

Anxiously awaiting news from Animallover. Hope she has good news!

I ended the day with nine. I had seven at 3, but I tempted a BR out of the nest when I was handing out cranberries. Not only did she lay later, but I had a big egg on the floor too!
I am so happy! Too bad my husband never delivered the eggs while he was home. I have six dozen in the fridge, plus the nine today. I will be up to about 11 dozen if I don't start calling to have people come for eggs.
Question. I weigh the dozen out to large. The individual eggs are mostly medium to jumbo. Very few smalls. Do you think people mind as long as the carton weighs out at large?

Bummer. Not knowing and having to wait is the hardest thing! (Hence the attraction of folks to this thread.... waiting for eggs.....)
