Putting her in a new environment might break her from being broody. But if she is known for being broody I bet she will get right back to it when she settles in. You will know when she is broody because she won't get off of that nest for anything until she absolutely has to. They act like they are in a daze while sitting on the nest. She will growl at you when you get near her eggs. Just give her something to sit on and wait for her to show you she is serious.Found a broody. Cochin bantam known for being very broody, and started going broody a few days ago. Picking her her up this week.
What do I need to know??
What are the odds of transporting her breaking the broodyness? Should I buy eggs and take them to her, then pick up everyone in a month? If it does break her broodyness, how long before she feels broody again?
I only risk it when they are actually in the nest... I've caught 5 eggs so far. so cool"Olive was all puffed up standing in the nest area when I went out first thing ~ so I stuck my hand out and she laid a perfect egg right in my palm. about an hour later, I got Peach to do the same thing."
So what's the secret cheeka......when I put my hand under Roger like that she poops in my hand.![]()
