Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Wow looks good, OK!
Thanks. I like to use mostly junk stuff that would get thrown away. It is much like the other coop but will have a separate run and lower nest boxes for hatching chicks. Still need to trim out and paint the outside.

I would be glad to have a coop built like you.

This is my broody coop :/

Hey it works for you. I have access to a lot of different materials from construction jobs so I am fortunate.

Was supposed to post here. It works for you so that's all that matters. I have access to a lot of free materials so I am fortunate. Nothing wrong with what you have.

OK, that is truly a nice set up! and yeah... I still think that your chick is a cockerel. Look at the size of that comb! do male Delawares get any red leakage at all on the saddle feathers? that's something else to look for if they do... whatever it turns out to be... it really is a healthy and beautiful bird...

SBMom, I'm with OK, it's great, especially if it works for You and Your Needs!

I got festive and went out and first dark with a sparkler

Can't believe I had to buy eggs!!! The girls just aren't laying. It took me a week to get 1/2 doz. Some of theenew girls are practising. I have been seeing them in the nest boxes. Hope they start soon. Bunch of free loaders they are. Lol

UGH oh nooo! I went thru that last year. Finally discovered my oldest DD was feeding sweet feed (12% protein) to my girls, because all the bags looked the same. she didn't read them....

My mom was in the hospital, and she was caring for the birds while we were dealing with the situation. So maybe switch to a better feed for a while, look them over are they molting? Has anything changed in their little world lately... hot weather will do it too. Damp cold and rainy also throws them off, sudden weather changes, that kind of thing.

hoping for better luck soon!
