Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

a copy of a highly rated (and highly wanted!) new book and a piece of Herend porcelain.

peeking at birthday presents is fun! this pic is a bit blurry, but you can see the details - the shell bits, the cracks... it's the same size as a pullet egg, and I love it!

Wonderful pictures, Lindz! All the leaves are one of the things I miss the most about living back east.

Congrats on your new coop ChickenLindz. Getting it all set up in time for winter is a great thing. Pictures soon, I hope!

Jchny, we had a cranky older lady neighbor for a while. She could barely muster a grimace when you said hello to her. Unfortunately, the school bus stopped right in front of her house. Another mom and I would stand with the kids to make sure that there was nothing for the meanie to complain about. Sometimes, after the bus left, we would stand out in the street and have a little chat. Ol' cranky would come out and tell us to leave! What a witch! Guess she couldn't stand it, because she moved. Hope she's happy now, but those sorts of people usually aren't ever happy. It's really pretty sad when you think about it.

Cheeka, that little chick figurine is adorable. Are those highly deserved gifts to yourself? I thought you were a December baby.

thank you so much!!! and the figurine is from my Mom and Dad. they are so thoughtful... I've been collecting Herend figurines since I was about 10 years old. back then, the tiny 1" bunnies with just dots on them were $1. a few years back, they were up to $15. don't know what they cost now... I have about 50 pieces and a dozen or so 1" bunnies, a couple of pieces are signed

and my b-day is 11/21

Very nice, Cheeka.
Is it wrong that my mouth waters when I look at my one chicken? I am really not into eating my own birds. I'm not even really into eating meat. My one White Rock hen though... she is so big and fat, I can't help myself! I just want to tear her open and cook her!

Here's a far away pic!!! It's 6x8 w 3 nest boxes. I do have to reinforce the windows and vents because I want the 1/2 x1/2 hardware cloth covering them for piece of mind. This is only the temp location, but I will be building a run a my dad on Wednesday.

As for the chicks... They are 2 weeks old and starting that "awkward" stage.
