Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Is it weird that I used my toothbrush to stir my coffee this morning?

Congrats on the eggs! And W4W isn't kidding about an extra fridge for eggs. I have to use a separate fridge for eggs, and I often give eggs away if they don't sell within a week. They pile up quickly!
my one daughter comes down from jersey and takes them back there for family, also we have an action that we can take them to, I did that last year got 3.00 a dozen, had about 5 dozen, so I may do that, I still have 17 hens I need to get egg from, one is a easter egg layer,

Quote: each Pie depends on what's on hand, usually not feed but a variety of seeds and oats or bits of cereal, left over wilting veg like radishes and stuff... meat for some, OK's have hot dogs... I've used Ramen noodles lots of times, those aren't as colorful and fun looking, but the gang devours them! the base doesn't have to be watermelon, it's fabulous when it's in season, it's a cheap platter for the rest of the ingredients to sit on, they LOVE watermelon and no extra plate is needed, nothing to wash... but I have large plastic platters from the dollar store for those times when I don't have watermelon. they wash up easily.
it's fun, and a great way to clean out the fridge!

Here are some of my favorite PIE pictures.

The first 3 are from the thread starter and Roger's dad, our good friend OK (okallthis4eggs).

Here are a couple from Cheeka with the lovely Ruby to help. (My unlovely dogs would have gobbled that pie!)

Mine are not very imaginative and are actually more of a glorified salad. I still call it PIE so the girls don't feel cheated.

I discovered my first predator casualty about half an hour ago. By bantam Cochin was laying by the pop door to the big run. I don't go into that room until I collect eggs in the evening. I still found 7 eggs. Poor thing. She really was cute.

She is the one on the left with the white fuzzy butt. She somehow never made it into other pictures.

When I lost all the chickens to the neighbor's dogs, I lost all my cochins except for the one that was broody and a chick that was in the brooder. They aren't as fast as the other chickens so they tend to be easy targets it seems.... Which is a shame because they are beautiful and friendly chickens! I am so sorry about your loss MC!
