Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

"You want good smelling poop or lots of eggs?"........ROGER

Hmmm.... There's a name for this type of situation, but I can't quite bring it to mind..... something with hen and ..... gee, what is it? ....pecked maybe?

Actually, don't mess with a good thing applies here as well.

But perhaps that needs to be modified to don't mess with Roger!

jchny, little Sadie is so darling! and your daughter is very pretty, they look so sweet cuddled together!

the gang is happy I am home early, they are out having some sun and grass, it's cold, but not windy... and I can't stay inside long, but I had to bring the chicks fresh water and make sure they are doing well... thought I'd pop on and say Hi! Got 3 eggs so far today, one RIR and 2 EE's... my friends who took 6 chicks last Spring have been waiting and waiting for the EE to start laying and she finally did! a really beautiful light Blue-Green egg! not quite as bright as Isis' egg, but the same... looks green when it stands alone, but really blue next to the other browns and creams... they thought they had 2 of each variety, and they ended up with 2 RIR, 1 BR, 1 Black Sex Link, one EE pullet and one EE roo... there were only supposed to be 3 roos in the order, and turns out there were 4... but their "Boss" is really handsome and they've kept him (so far). They want one more EE girl, and have been eyeballin' my new peeps... I am more inclined to try to hatch some this Spring and let them take their pick from those... I've got to head back outside for a bit, and have house chores to do when I get back in, but the plan for later this afternoon is to take pictures of the chicks with props... like my cowgirl hat and stuff...

Am loving the pics, have an odd craving to make some chocalate chip cookies.
I ferment whole grains. I keep the water over the top and only stir it to make sure their are no air pockets. If part is exposed to air it can rot. Like pickles, you don't want air in there. With whole grains I like to ferment it two to three days, since that outer shell takes time to let the vinegar in and do its job. I did go over board with the holes and dremel but....looks like a collinder.
FIVE eggs today from my layers and FOUR from my games, a new pullet bacame a hen! That makes, ah, NINE! Hee hee.

Very cute little dog and pretty young lady! I'm thinking this fermented food thing might work for my dad. Better food absorption, nutrient value, easier digestion and less smell... sounds perfect!

Well seriously, he complains that he cannot digest starch anymore. Fermented baked potatoes! Mmmmm......

I have the thread bookmarked and will start reading through the first bit.
