Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

In my never ending effort to be the best dad I can be I thought it would be nice to bake the girls fresh bread. But something went terribly wrong. That was baked for 35 minutes at 400 degrees. I have failed miserably.
Looks like a pizza crust to me... that would go great with beer... I'm sure they will love it, after all... Pizza is still "Pie"!

I have submerged myself all evening, reading about Heritage Breeds, I'm bleary eyed and headin' for me beddin'! g'nite everyone!!!

Oh! Hahahahahahaha....hahahahahha! You out did yourself OK. Here I was thinking, hey, that could happen to any one...then I realized, that is not a cookbook, but a premix box of bread....just add water? Hahahahaha. Oh, I AM sorry. Did you let it raise before you baked it? Kind of an integral step in the process ...but no worries, slice in half on one side and stuff with goodies, it can be a pita pie! Maybe you can sew it shut and tell roger not to open it before Christmas. Get one on her for a change. :)

The picture on the box looks absolutely great...yeah..that's what we all get first time around. I always keep a few sprigs of wheat on my counter for asthetics.
3 cups four, 2 tab oli, 2tsp salt, 1 tsp yeast.....mix together , add one cup of water and knead it forever. Cover with plastic wrap and cloth and place in a warm corner till you've forgotten it. For bread sticks, lightly punch it down, roll it out rectangle and cut into slices. Toss those slices on a cookie sheet, cover with a cloth go do something else till you remember you're making bread sticks...heat oven to around 400 425 something like that...sprinkle with sea salt and basil or something Italian and bake for ten minutes. Total cost of ingredients...like 50 cents. The nice part, is you have some one to eat it when it doesn't work out right.

Oh dear, yes, terribly wrong.

OK, now here's an example of when my sympathies are totally with you!

I've have the best laughs tonight, but I'm gonna wake the dog with my snorting!

And there are tears rolling down my face. In an effort to combat sexist stereotypes, I will admit that I HATE to cook. I do it, I'm a decent cook, we eat healthy, mostly fresh food, and no one is starving. But it sure is an unpleasant chore. I'd rather be out stacking firewood, or doing laundry. Heck, I'd even rather clean the bathroom! Your poor flat loaf is a visual representation of how I feel about cooking. Meh. But it has struck my funny bone!

Now, to further explore sexist stereotypes, I have to ask, did ya read the directions? All the way through? It has been my experience that a certain type of man (I seem to be surrounded by this type, but naming no names!) will not bother with directions of any sort. These men happen to be exceedingly competent and resourceful, able to do just about anything they put their minds to. But, a refusal to even peruse directions sure does lengthen the learning curve!!! After all, how hard can it be?

So you see, you didn't fail miserably, not at all. You're just still learning! It's either that, or as my #2 just informed me, THE BOX LIED.

Oh, ouch! I'm getting a stomach ache!

Too funny. Rofl. I like mine better. You can always omit the flour and sugar if it has been a bad day

Now that's my kind of cooking! Hubby can have the beer and won't even miss the bread!

It must be past my bedtime. Getting way too silly here!

Your my "go to gal" for this kinda stuff. I should have got your advice first. It called for one cup of water. I got that part right. Then it got complicated. Next time I will get your input before taking on such a project. Thanks ACW

I have not gave up. These girls have laid eggs for me like crazy and even gave me a couple PERFECT days here lately. They will be rewarded. If nothing else I'll get a case of beer and fill their water container with beer and spend the day in the run with them. Christmas party
