Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Those are slashpine and oak mostly, sw fl.,, about 15 miles inland from the gulf. This is typical old cattle country. Only palms are cabbage, unless you import them. The owners bought the place as a retreat way back when it was off a dirt/shell road, now its a little off a 6 lane to the airport and they just put a 28 million dollar fire station on the corner. Guess what the taxes are on 20 acres. I don't know cheek a, you should look out for a small used Airstream. Not so big to pull. And my optometrist says European travel is not that expensive ( he is a cheap too, like me) I've done alot of things that I look back and say...how did I afford that! But like sensei says -if there's a will, there's a way. Two things on,my bucket list are cruise in Alaska, and mule ride the grand canyon. Dive the barrier reef was one, until I learned the sceavy practice of the dive boats and the many great whites....uh, change that to visit Austria. Hahaha.

SIX.......Today We Laid SIX.

nice spot ACW! northern florida? I see regular trees... not just palms. that's another retirement dream of mine, get a nice camper, travel a month here, a month there... actually, the big dream is to get a small apartment in Italy somewhere, and winter in Europe... but that is not as likely to happen as a nice camper...

the chicks are doing great. getting quite big, and beautifully feathered. doing the chest bump regularly, and i cannot leave the crate door open when i change out water anymore. they leave. and they are very hard to catch! lol. I'm pooped out from a long day today, however, I may be up for taking a few pictures, otherwise I will take some tomorrow after work. easy day tomorrow...and only 2-4 more inches of snow are predicted.

I got home a few minutes past 4 this afternoon, went straight to the dome to see if anyone wanted to venture outside into the plowed side yard, but I had no takers. I got a big ham and cheese sandwich at the grocer where I worked today (they have gluten free bread!) and it was so huge I could only eat half. so I gave the gang the other half. too funny to see them run around with pieces of ham or cheese and chase each other. I hand fed Peach and Si on the roost, Si seems to think that my finger is part of the food, he nips me with each bite, no matter how I turn my hand... it doesn't hurt, it's pretty funny. he really likes cheese, he was taking huge bites, it was sticking to his beak and he was making nummy sounds. Peach was loving the bread the most, but she had a little of everything.
there were a few Christmas cookies left from this morning, I gave them a nice pile of spaghetti and fish as well, that was all gone. as soon as I pointed out the cookies, they were gone too, and I got three eggs, first day that Peach didn't lay since she started.

I don't know what's up with me lately, been so tired, yet unable to sleep when it's time. last few nights I've been subsisting on 3.5 hours. hope I get back to normal soon...

Sounds like the gang had a yummy day!
Cheeka, somethings in the back of your mind. I do that too, and finally it pops out. Change up your day and go do something totally different, off the wall next time you got a day off. It will surface and you will think "oh, ya that's what it was"!

I feel good about myself right now. Most (or all) of us have a state thread. In PA, a lot of people live in one area (Reading/Lancaster) and I don't drive, so I am excluded from most things. Well, a woman in my area said she didn't know what to do about all the chicks that she just hatched (we have serious "hatching bug" issues in PA). I was able to offer my heat lamp and brooder. Not the biggest deal, but I think she will appreciate it!

I am rarely useful anymore. This is my big "ta da!"
So, who else is getting pelted with more snow? We already had an inch or two by 6:30.
The chickens went outside yesterday. The first one walked out five minutes after I said they weren't going outside in all this snow.

Got about 3-4 inches of fresh snow last night. Roger is still trying to eat all of the three feet tall scratchman I made for them. I told her the scratchman swallowed her pie. That will keep her busy and out of trouble

MC, of course you are useful! You are one of the best listeners and supporters I know. That means a lot to me, for sure

Don't forget, You help us keep Roger in line! It sure does feel good to help out tho. Hubby is gone most days during the week and i get really bored.
Usually am home with mom, so winter gives me massive cabin fever. I have the car and can go, but mom's nearly a shut in. She has panic attacks if we go out, even to the grocery.
Haha, my Guineas are still screaming at the snow. they fly and go back in, screaming the whole time! Cowards!

IDK what to think. Penny is my nest box layer. I then have Baby, the BR, and 2 others. I just got 2 XL on the floor, and a small (scale fluctuated btwn Pee Wee and small) in the box. I know that wasn't Penny. So I either have another new layer, or one of the newer ones decided to give the box a try. I swear some chickens are going to get lipstick butts. I hate not knowing who laid what.

Quote: I took care of my DH's Great Aunt for a year without a break. Nasty woman. She told me to go sleep in the coop one night. Husband didn't intervene, so I told her to stop being a (bark bark) or leave. She quickly found out that I was telling the truth. Even her sister didn't want her around. Somehow MIL decided to bite the bullet, and take her (she is the aunt's ex- niece-in-law). Anyway, I know what you mean about panic attacks, and her not wanting to go out, or let you go.
