WOW! Before you said it was a goose egg I was feeling really sorry for the chicken!

The sav-a-chik might perk her up a bit so that she will want to eat and drink a bit more. Did the olive oil help? Is she still yawning? You do have to be a bit careful forcing them to drink, they can inhale the liquids and then you are risking a whole other problem. Try just a bit at a time and allow her to close her mouth so that she can swallow it or it may go down the wrong way. A few drops up by the corner of her mouth usually works. Sometimes just using a drop of water on your finger and touching along the side of the mouth will get to drink reflexively. (And sometimes they shake their heads really hard and the water gets in your eye

which hurts if it has vinegar in it.)

Also, a good treat that might interest her is scrambled or hard boiled egg. Easy to digest and good calories for her.

Did Dawg say anything about antibiotics?

Keep trying and I'll keep my fingers crossed.
no, he just said the oil. And I gave it to her about 10 minutes before she went to roost, so I'll find out tomorrow

If Roger goes broody I might have to get a dozen of those goose eggs from you.
OMG can you imagine if Roger raised the geese, no one would be safe from the pinch patrol!

This is a "pullet egg" in goose terms, they will actually be bigger

This is a brown african/chinese goose (mutts) named WeeWee and an Embden gander. Big G is easily 30 pounds. If the rain lets up i will get pics of him and WeeWee. I have another gander and 3 other geese also, but WeeWee is the only one nesting so far.

Evening all! busy here tonight, animallover, I hope you have success with your bird, you've gotten good advice, that's for sure!

I can't even remember... 3 eggs? today seems like a whole week. yeah, 3 eggs. Peach was nesting at dusk, but she never sang, so I didn't go in and disturb her.

this morning, not even halfway to work, my boss calls me and tells me that 'so and so' is sick, and now I have to do her route instead of my own... and sorry... but you've got to hustle, cuz you'll already be 45 minutes late... (my start time is 45 minutes past hers...) Criminy. Gimme a dang break. She's taking tomorrow off too, honestly, I spend more time doing her route than she does. I haven't stopped in to see my octogenarian friend for 2 weeks, I'm either not on my route, or I'm rushing bc I have to do a route somewhere else after my own... I feel badly, wanted to stop yesterday, but I had a route inspection, and the PM was riding with me, checking every detail of my route, so I couldn't deviate. I've called, but it's just not the same... company is so much better. I don't see well in the dark, and definitely have difficulty driving in the dark, I don't stay out past work...

So, the one day I've been looking forward to for a week... tomorrow. 50+ degrees, sunny... when I should be home by 2ish, I will be stuck at work, til dusk. It's raining hard now, we are supposed to get as much as 2 inches of rain over night. that, plus the sunny day tomorrow, should melt almost all of the snow. Frankly, I don't believe that 'so and so' is sick. I think she's playing hooky. I need cocoa... I'm way too grumpy...

ACW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We all hope to hear from you soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
