Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

OK, they've changed the format of the editing bar, but the things you need should still be in the first row under Reply... there is a "More" button which opens all the editing tools... maybe somehow you don't have the full update?

Samson is almost all grown up! from day one through today: remember? I got them the day Sillie hatched because it was day 25 and I didn't want Peach to have no chicks...

Wilma's P.O.'d at me for shooing all the other ladies away so I could take her picture - she's got no tail feathers! I thought she was finished molting, then I realized... doh, those need to be replaced too... pins are already there and opening! she's puffed up with indignity... not the cold.

Hello everybody. Welcome new friends. Things calmed down just a bit so I wanted to say hi. Freezer is full of venison and enough firewood is cut regardless of how cold it gets this winter. Chickens are doing fine. I sold two of the pullets (one BR and one Delaware) so I still have 9 of them left. One is a Delaware rooster so he will probably have to go as well. The other eight (4 BR and 4 Delaware pullets) looks like I might keep them....if I can afford them .....(BR's are hungry you know). Big BO Broody was destroyed by a hard molt and is putting herself back together a feather at a time. She looked like the straw man on the Wizard Of Oz when the flying monkeys got hold of him. RK Broody has completed her job of raising chicks and is getting a little tired of being "Mommy Dearest". Eleven kids would do that to anybody. She got all of her feathers back and runs the show in the broody coop and run. Little BO walks a little better and still roost alone on the floor. Still a mystery what happened to her. Slow walking and unable to get onto the roost but she manages to live a normal life otherwise. She lays 3-4 eggs a week. Kinda feel bad for her but it could be worse. She seems to be happy and still has the second loudest mouth next to (you know who in red) Little Roger lays well and my RIR rooster turned his clock back two hours instead of one so he wakes me up at 4am now instead of 5am. It was 6am before the time change. I think Roger taught him how to tell time. Basically ruined a good rooster. As for the devil (in red) she remains to be the top manure producer I have (in more ways than one).....lays a egg every couple of weeks or three. Takes credit for all the eggs. Is starving to death and has gained the most weight. The "Meat Bird" list no longer works with her name at the top. She (in red) thinks that it means that she gets first serving of all venison scraps brought into the coop/nuthouse. I give up

Today I got 3 eggs from the G.Comet girls! Rogue's leg is still not getting any better with resting in the little coop. I guess we are going to have to cull him this weekend if he isn't getting better. It is a shame, because he is finally getting over the teenage drama stage, and being really good with the girls for the most part.

Beautiful pics cheeka and Lindz!

Glad to know Rodger (in red) has enough venison for the week (a freezer ful should last that long).

Never needed the top for my first batch but glad I made it anyway. I was watching the babies and this one flew up to the top without a single hitch. She would have no problem getting out. And she's only a week old!!!!

Thanks cheeka. When I click on the icon to change to color of the text the colors quickly show then flash off before I can click on any color. Same thing when I click on the "size" box. Flashes for a split second then disappears before I can click on anything. The rest of it all works bold, underline, SSSS, ect works fine. This may be the first step by BYC to ban Roger (in red) from causing problems and begging on here. Imagine that a chicken getting "barred" from BYC

Excellent imagery. I have one that looks like that too. It's like she suddenly, partially, exploded.

As for Roger's computer difficulties, you can post the problem in the Forum Information and FAQs under BYC Website & Forum Feedback & Announcements and someone will help. Generally these glitches are experienced by other users, so there may already be a fix in the works.

This is the standard spiel Nifty-Chicken gives to help those trying to trouble shoot.

quote:
Here are a few questions that will help them find, duplicate, and hopefully resolve the problem you are having. Go through these questions and reply with all the details of your problem:

  • How long has the problem been happening? When did it start? If only one time, what day and time did it happen?
  • VERY IMPORTANT: Which browser and version are you using (eg., Firefox 3.5.9, Internet Explorer 7, etc.)
  • Have you tried disabling all your browser plugins and/or extensions? (Some of these conflict with website features and tools)
  • Have you deleted your internet cache / browser history of files and tried again?
  • VERY IMPORTANT: Have you tried a different browser (we suggest Google Chrome or Firefox)?

Hope you can get it fixed. Roger is such a colorful character!!!

I am really glad I don't have to hunt for my food. I don't even know where sandwiches live!
