Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Day3 she decided that the other side needed to match. The doctor called and DD#2 has RSV. DD#3 is getting sick too.
Two boo-boos and a huge smile! What a sweetie! Hope all your little ones feel better soon. Just as a side note, we have been relying on those Cold-eeze zinc lozenges and the Airborne supplements (generic versions of both) and take them anytime someone feels a little "off" as a preventative measure. They've been working great for us. Hubs made it 10 days in germ-ridden China, with 24 hours of travel at either end of the trip and he came back healthy!!

What do you all think of this roo? All these pictures are from last summer/fall

Is he a lavender project? I actually like the leakage, makes them more individual as opposed to one of the herd. How's his temperament? I think that's really important to have a well mannered rooster to pass along his well mannered genes.

gorgeous afternoon for free range, temps in the 40's, light breeze, sunny... everyone had a good time, and virtually no rooster squabbles, except for the big white Foster and Henry...

Henry WON! this must have boosted his confidence... because when Peach approached him, he put on his best dance moves...

she was impressed and followed him all over the place!

she ran off lil Red... she's not interested in anyone but Henry... I can't wait for her to resume laying - it must be coming soon or she probably wouldn't be interested in any rooster...?

Lovely!! Peach only has eyes for Henry, huh? Weren't we just saying something about birds of a feather.....? Hope you get some chicks from this pairing. A cochin body with muffs and a beard would be cute!

Adding: Congrats on being able to keep your fosters. Whether you keep them all or not, it's just nice to know the decision is yours. I trust Bakery is a keeper?

Hi All,

Hatching day is tomorrow! I am hoping to wake up and find some chicks tomorrow. Actually I would like to find some pips and zips. I like watching them hatch, then I can tell who came from what egg! I can't wait to see what they look like! I put up some BR, AM, OE (that lays pink eggs), CL, and maybe the NH red or the delaware. I can't tell those eggs apart. All covered by one of the two AM roos. I also put up 4 AM eggs, that were all duds. So much for having more blue eggs. At least the CL/AM mix should get me blue egg layers, if I get any pullets!

I got 16 eggs today (really 21 because I found a secret hiding place behind the trash barrel under the stairs). I have no idea how long they have been there.

Lindz, love your blue roo! I have been trying for a blue hen, but I keep hatching blacks and splashes!

Good nite all!

hatching vibes!!

oooh Sully! I can't wait to see pics too!!!

Lynda, I def plan on keeping Bakery and her BR sister... and the ? White Rock (if that is what she is...) 2 people locally know that I have some to give away, we'll see what they say, both are supposed to reach me this morning at the office if they are interested.

no one called for the Fosters... so I mentioned them to the clerk at the office. her family has a small flock and they lost 2 last year that haven't been replaced... she is interested, and thinks she knows someone who might take a few as well... good. whatever doesn't go with them can stay. and I'll eat the roosters.

still missing lots of greens and blues...&,,, no olive green from Blu...
8 Eggs today, including 1 really perfect egg from a Foster. I asked who laid it, and the White Rock came forward to claim it... but I think she was pulling a "Roger". I'm telling you, this egg was perfectly shaped, perfectly smooth & perfectly colored (soft brown) ... impressive...
