After zero eggs for so long, and 8 as an average since maybe October, that is awesome!

awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it could be an EE egg... but I don't think it's the one with the applied blue food coloring - it would have had to show streaks at that size... quite the stretch...!
I am leaning this way: you've added new birds. it could be one of those... they would have arrived with eggs in production...unless you housed them separately - I know you weren't "quarantining" but... is it possible that it's one of the new girls?

That's the way I am leaning too. I think it is just too big to be her first egg. It is beautiful and smooth and a very pretty color! And I didn't have any that laid cream since the cochins were gone!

the weather forecast says 0% chance of precipitation... yet it's snowing. light flurries...I guess we're near the point where it snows a bit everyday, but doesn't amount to anything without a storm to back it up... the Fosters and the Bantam Boys + Royce had frozen chunks of yesterdays snack... the Dome occupants devoured every crumb, all that's left are a few bits of red/brown stained straw to indicate they had a snack. I salvaged the frozen chunks, to defrost and serve later. I overfeed those bantams... but better to overfeed than under, I say! besides, I take their leftovers and add them to the Foster's feed, so the bantams always have fresh, and the leftovers don't go to waste. I forgot to check for eggs tho'... so I have to get bundled up again. I just want some coffee first...

Oh did I tell you that when we eviscerated Clyde we never found his heart! We found a few tiny pieces of organ tissue that may have been anout the size of a nickle all together but I don't know what happened. We looked for several minutes and never found it. Very strange!

wow lindz, that is very peculiar!

SBMom ~ Congrats! lovely shade and speckles are fun! I still haven't gone back out to look for eggs, got caught up in housework... I'm goin' now!

eta, just one - and it's Esther's bantam egg, a shade darker than previous, with lovely larger darker speckles!
