Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

It's just under 32 here but sunny so it feels great!!!!

Cheeka I did my shower drain the other day. It was so gross I was dry heaving!!! Have fun!

I didn't let my gang out... your yard looks so nice lindz, no snow... I've plowed but I'm too tired to stand out in the cold, just can't do it today. I have to go out one more time to look for eggs, they've already had their afternoon corn and seeds mix to keep warm for the night and had their water replenished. I spent my time mostly taking pics of eggs this afternoon.

some of the speckles don't show up so well in photos unless I moisten the shell, but then the wetness shows... double edged sword. maybe I should pick up mineral oil. the blue-green egg shown here, I believe, was laid by bearded Cochin (EE) Josephine. it's a new shade - to hold it and look at it, it clearly is quite a dark brown under the blue tint, which is porous. it's not a color I've seen before, I have no EE's that I'm waiting to start except for Josephine, and I really expected a brown egg from her despite the beard. but I have 3 of these now, all the same, pullet sized... has to be hers...

Thanks Cheeka, but it would be much better if we had grass sown on everything! We still have alot to sow! Those pictures were taken out my kitchen window! I am in love with your egg pictures!
I am hoping to work on the big building and converting it this weekend... Probably won't get it finished though!

I'm ready to grab a pillow and share that sun spot... it's almost 20* outside and no wind really... I'm gonna snooze til 1:00 and then let the flock out for a bit. it might hit the mid 20's by then, pleasant to be out in.

Aaawwwww... that's the life! My goofy dogs followed me around in the rain all day. Old Belle was even laying out in it.

I rubbed them dry as best I could and they are flaked out under a heat lamp in the garage. It's 52 degrees, so not bad at all, but Belle is starting to feel her age. Thrilled about the rain, but not so thrilled about the wet dog smell!

Quote: Rolling brown outs.... flashback! We haven't had those in ages, but they are now having Flex Alerts. They want people to conserve because of potential shortages in the frozen east, especially natural gas. We are on a well which we share with one neighbor, so while we don't pay a monthly water bill, when there's trouble with the well, it's really expensive. Super deep too, 350'.

Where did you live?

That's beautiful. Lucky chickens. Is that your livestock guard cat? Or is she part of the flock now? Be sure to show us the egg when she figures out how to lay one!

No more Husky sightings, I hope.

Thank you! I will be glad when we finally get everything situated! Sydney thinks she is a chicken... or a dog... She doesn't know she's a cat! She abandoned her first litter of kittens to raise puppies! We had her spayed after that! If she lays an egg, I'll have a cow!

No we haven't seen the Huskies in awhile!
